Air

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is the main airport serving Atlanta. Located just 10 km south of Downtown Atlanta, this is one of the world’s busiest airports. ATL serves domestic flights as well as international ones. Passengers arriving into this airport can travel into the city by taking a MARTA train. MARTA has a train station in the airport terminal. From here, you can travel directly to Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead and Sandy Springs. Journey time is about 20 minutes. MARTA also offers bus services to the city centre. Taxis, shuttles and limousines can be located at the Ground Transportation Center.

Train

Amtrak trains serve Atlanta with the Amtrak station located on Peachtree Street N.W. The Amtrak Crescent brings passengers to Atlanta from New York, Philadelphia, Charlotte, New Orleans, Baltimore, Washington and Birmingham. The MARTA bus routes 23 and 110 stop outside the Amtrak station. These bus services will take you to other parts of the city. The Amtrak Station is not connected to the MARTA train system.

Bus

The Greyhound operates buses to and from Atlanta. There is a Greyhound Bus Terminal situated next to the Marta Garnett station. Buses arrive here from other cities such as Nashville, New Orleans, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Savannah.

Car

If you’re traveling to Atlanta from the direction of either Detroit in the north of the country or Florida, in the south, you should take the I-75. Those traveling from the Mid-Atlantic or New Orleans should take the I-85 to get to Atlanta. The I-20 will lead those to this city from the direction of Texas and South Carolina. The I-75 and I-85 combine to form the Downtown Connector through the middle of the town.
